On June 6th Jonathan and I left Sawyer with Maudie and Pa for 8 days to fly to Australia and check out a possible area/ town to live in. We have never left Sawyer overnight with anyone. This was huge! We talked to Sawyer everyday using the webcam through Skype. We probably would not have made it without it. 5 or 6 days was probably Sawyers limit, but we didn’t have a choice. They seemed to be doing fine and I know Sawyer was spoiled the whole time. He really enjoyed himself. Janet, our re-location consultant, or our ‘Australian Mom’ took us all around the city of Brisbane to show us all the suburbs as a possibility to live in. We really just thought we were on this preview trip to scope everything out, not to commit to a property. Here houses are only on the market a couple of weeks before they are snatched up. If you are interested you have to act fast. To make a long story short we were told the day before we left that we needed to commit to a property after seeing only 6 properties. We chose the 3rd floor of a 3 story apartment with a balcony overlooking a park and the Brisbane River. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a study/office. Our suburb is called Bulimba. It is a suburb southeast of Brisbane (closer to the ocean).

Our Preview Trip
