It's Hot!

It is so hot here! 90+ degrees seems to be the normal temperature in our part of AUS. It sure is nice to have a pool!

South Bank

Today after church we went to the man-made beach in Brisbane. First we ate at a cafe where Jonathan and Sawyer ordered a milkshake to share. Apparently milkshakes in AUS are a cup of milk with chocolate syrup, shaken. Just like what we would call plain chocolate milk.

We swam and played in the fountains. Sawyer likes the fountains the best! Then we took him to the park to play. They had more fun playing in the creek than on the playground equipment. It was a great day!

Boogie Boarding at Gold Coast

Oops! He fell off.

We went to the Gold Coast today. Sawyer and Jonathan really enjoyed boogie boarding. I don't think it is quite my sport especially with my big belly and all. Oh, and they both got new swimming trunks for Valentine's Day. Aren't they cool!

New TV Stand

Our TV stand arrived today! We were using our bedroom dresser before. All the furniture is ultra modern in AUS, and I guess I am more traditional when it comes to furniture. We had to custom order it to get black hardwood. It took 4 months, but it was worth the wait. It was custom made and shipped from Indonesia.

2 Weeks to Go!

I am well aware that babies are much easier to care for when they are inside, but all the aches and not sleeping more than an hour at a time makes me even more ready to have our baby girl. Sawyer weighed 6lbs and 11 oz when he was born. My doctor said with confidence that this baby was definitely going to be bigger than that. I totally agree! All in all, things are going well and we are anxiously awaiting our new baby girl!

Daisy's Nursery

I have enjoyed getting ready for Daisy. Shopping for pink is so much fun. I made the throw/quilt on the end of this bed as well as the big pillow and bed skirt.

No, her name is not crooked on the wall it just looks that way in the picture. I should work on keeping the camera level!

The big picture frame is an organizer that I made to keep all her ribbons and bows. They just clip on!

Mt. Coot-tha

We went to Mt. Coot-tha today. It is a mountain in Brisbane that has a great lookout over the city. We didn't get to stay long because Sawyer was way past nap time and wasn't in the best of moods. That is why there aren't any pictures of us.

Sawyer Got Mail!

Sawyer was so excited to open his very own mail. He received a Valentine from his good friend Ava Wagar who lives in California. It was very sweet, and Sawyer enjoyed every minute of it.

North Stradbroke Island

As you can see we were the only people on this beach. There were some lifeguards still there from the surf contest they had earlier.

Today we drove to Cleveland to catch the ferry to North Stradbroke Island. Once we arrived on the island we got on a bus that took us to the most beautiful beach we had ever seen. We went to Point Lookout which is on the East side of the island. The waves were huge, and the island is very much still in its natural state with the exception of a few roads and restaurants. To get around most of the island you need a 4WD vehicle. We had full intentions of taking our rental car over on a vehicle ferry so that we could do things on our own instead of catching the bus. But, when Jonathan picked up the rental vehicle he asked about the registration # to reserve our spot on the ferry and they about came unglued. Apparently, in AUS you can not take a rental vehicle off the mainland, because, if they find out they will just send you a bill for the price of the vehicle and it will be yours. Yikes! I guess it states that somewhere in the contract that we really should spend hours reading at some point. All in all, despite all the walking we had to do it was a nice time and we got to see the most beautiful beach yet! However, we left when a blue bottle jelly fish with a 3 foot tentacle swam right by Jonathan and Sawyer.
