We drove by the Glass House Mountains on the way home. This is only one of them.

We went to the AUS Zoo today. There were tons of crocodiles as well as native AUS animals. Sawyer really liked the croc show. I can't believe that the trainers/zoo keepers get within feet of the crocs. Crazy!

ANZAC Day Parade

These are US military vehicles that were left over from WWII.

Today we went down town to watch the ANZAC Day Parade. Here is a little history...ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance to honor members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. It also commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for AUS and NZ. One out of every 10 Australians were involved in WWI; young AUS men were excited to go to France to fight as an Australian nation for the 1st time (although they were still supporting England). After leaving Australia the soldiers were informed of their mission to Gallipoli to fight the Turks. April 25th, 1915 the ANZACs landed there. Within months thousands of AUS and NZ soldiers had been killed. After months of fighting the ANZACS had successfully kept the Turks from joining the Germans to fight in Europe. The first song you hear on our blog is a popular song that is remembered from this war is called, "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda."

Daisy in Daddy's Army hat

Today we went to Movie World again, but this time Greyson and his family went too. We had a great time. It was nice because Laura and I watched the kids while the guys rode the roller coaster. Then, the guys did the same for us. I really thought after having children that my coaster days were over. Boy was I wrong. It seemed to be a lot faster than I remembered. I guess I am just getting old.

Our 1st ER Trip

The Peabody wives had a game night at Jaqui's house. We all ate too much and had a great time playing games... until I got a call from Jonathan saying, "Come home now! Sawyer needs stitches in his head!" while both kids are crying in the background. I just hung up the phone and got going as quickly as I could. When I got home neither of the children were crying and Jonathan had stopped the bleeding. Go, Dad! Apparently, Sawyer thought that spinning around, and around, and around was a good idea. Unfortunately, he got dizzy and hit his head on the corner of the wall. he seemed to be fine, but needed some medical assistance. It is about 10:30pm at this point and we decide to take him to the ER. They glued his head back together with Dermabond and at 2:30 am we were on our way home. I hope he learned his lesson. He hasn't spun around since!

Already Matching

Jonathan and Sawyer got Daisy and I matching bracelets when she was born. My guys are very thoughtful!

Picnic in the Rain

We had a picnic in the rain at New Farm Park with the Richards. It was a lot of fun. Greyson and Sawyer really liked all the puddles. I think the big boys liked the puddles, too!
