Another Dust Storm

We had a second dust storm roll in. It was not nearly as bad as the first, but since it was at sunset we got some really neat pictures. It looks like the moon, but it is the sun!

Brisbane Dust Storm

We had a huge dust storm today! The reason for the dust is we had some really strong winds in the inland areas of New South Wales and in South Australia. These winds lifted a whole lot of dust off the ground because it's quite dry out there. Many of those areas are still drought affected. The dust swept from Sydney to Brisbane and beyond. Sydney got it worse than we did. Keep in mind I have not altered these pictures in any way. The color of the pictures is exactly what we saw when we looked out our windows.

It only took about 2 hours to get here. We couldn't even see across the river. I have never experienced anything quite like this...neither has anyone else that I have talked to from Brisbane. Wild!

Happy Birthday Rhys!

Rhys and his family came over to our house today. We had lunch and birthday cake for his 4th birthday. Rhys goes to our church. The boys had a good time!

Cricket Match

We took a picnic to the park today and watched a cricket match. Cricket is pretty much Aussie baseball. They use a very hard ball, and a flat bat. There are no bases to run, and they often hit the ball behind them, which is still a fair ball!?!? I don't understand what the appeal is, but Jonathan seems to enjoy it. We had a very relaxing afternoon!

This is the funniest thing...the cricket guys always have morning tea and afternoon tea breaks. They even break for 'Tea Time' when you watch a cricket match on TV. They love their tea and biscuits (cookies) in AUS!

Last Day on Hamilton Island

Da plane, da plane! Have you ever seen the show Fantasy Island? Ha, ha.

We will miss this view from our balcony.

This is the ice cream shop we all loved.

Normally, you would never let a child get this close to a dingo. These dingos have been at this sanctuary since they were born, so they are very tame dogs.

Daisy liked the birds.

We were up close and personal with a koala.

I think this is the world's smallest airport. Just kidding...at least it is the smallest one we have ever been in.

Goodbye, Whitsunday Islands! We will definitely miss this tropical paradise! This was by far the most beautiful and enjoyable vacation we have ever had!

Hamilton Island, Vacation Day 4

Jonathan loved waking up before the crack of dawn to watch the sunrise. The rest us enjoyed our sleep!

This is a new way to golf that we hadn't seen before. Usually you would want to avoid hitting balls into the water, but apparently the goal is to hit the ball into the water to score points.

We did a lot of swimming today. The kids both fell asleep out on the beach.

We drove all over Hamilton Island in our buggy. It was so much fun!

Daisy knew there was something she would like in Jonathan's cup, so she just kept licking it.
