New Year's Eve in Melbourne

Yeah, I have no idea why there was a deformed cow in this tree...apparently that's art!

We went to the family festival so the kids could ride rides and watch the fireworks. The fireworks went up all around us. In Melbourne they set them off from many different locations to accommodate all the people who wish to see them.

These fireworks were set off at midnight. Jonathan and I viewed these from our 10th floor hotel window. These were also let off at various places around the city. We saw two, and sometimes three sets of fireworks at one time. What a great night and a spectacular way to start 2011!

The Victoria Markets were so much fun. I just loved seeing, smelling and tasting new foods.

The main way to get around Melbourne is by tram. It was an adventure since it was always packed full...especially getting on and off with a stroller.

Here we stumbled upon a public toilet situated right in the center of a two-way street. It was so very weird, however we just had to use it. The doors were automatic so you didn't have to touch anything, as was the flush and the water and soap, etc. It even talked to you...we can't remember exactly what it said, but it was something to the effect of, "Good day...you now have 4 minutes...your time is up, please proceed to the door. Have a great day!" What a fun experience!

Wow, our first stop along the Great Ocean Road was absolutely stunning. It was so hard to imagine that we were going to see more beautiful places than this, but sure enough...we did!

We have been to many, many beautiful places, but never to a place quite like this. These pictures don't nearly do justice to the pristine cliffs and rock formations we saw. You can't help to be in complete awe of this beautiful world our God has made. It was absolutely breathtaking!
